Viber for Android In Beta Testing

For Android users out there who were jealous of iPhone users who could utilize the app Viber in order to make free calls over WiFi and 3G, well fret not as Viber has opened its doors to the Android community offering their app for free this week to its beta applicants.

Viber kept itself true to the original iPhone version with a few bonus features, namely the ability to respond to text messages without opening up the app itself, natively viewable in-app call logs from non-Viber calls and also the ability to set Viber as the default dialing application for all applications. I find the last feature rather handy as sometimes you might forget that you are making a regular call instead of a Viber call and the next thing you know, you have a sky-high phone bill.

So far testing has been done on devices such as HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and others, now we just have to wait for the final version to be released to the rest of the Android community. Another app that brings the iOS and Android community together, I say why not?
