The Rena3 Tablet Is A Cheaper Dual-Core Alternative

Looking to get your hands on a dual-core processor tablet? Sure you have your picks of Motorola’s Xoom, LG’s G-Slate, Acer’s Iconia Tab, ASUS’s Transformer and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1. That seems like a pretty decent list to pick from but unless you were willing to spend anywhere from $400-$800 those tablets will be pretty much out of reach.

Enter the Rena3 tablet.

It is running on a Cortex A9 1GHz dual-core processor, featuring a 7-inch capacitive multitouch screen, 512MB RAM, Bluetooth, G-Sensor, WiFi, 2-megapixel front camera and 3200mAh battery, 1080p video playback and HDMI. All of this for $215. If this sounds too good to be true do take note that unlike the tablets mentioned above, the Rena3 will only be running on Android’s Froyo 2.2, while the other more expensive tablets will be enjoying the perks and benefits of running Android’s Honeycomb 3.0, with some of them scheduled to receive the 3.1 update too.

Not a complete loss if your budget is your main concern, not to mention there might be some developers out there who will figure out a way to unofficially get Honeycomb onto the Rena3 eventually.
