T-Mobile UK’s HTC Desire HD Gets Gingerbread Update

If you’re living in the UK and you’re on T-Mobile and own a HTC Desire HD, then good news because it looks like you are about to get the Android Gingerbread 2.3 update for your smartphone. A couple of weeks ago unbranded versions of the HTC Desire HD and Incredible S both got their Gingerbread updates, but if you’re one of the users that is locked to your carrier, T-Mobile in particular, hang tight as you will be notified on your phone when the update is ready to be downloaded and installed.

In other news it looks like users on UK’s Three network will not be receiving the HTC Desire HD Gingerbread update just yet. According to Recombu, Three replied to them saying “We apologise for the delay to the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS update. Due to software bugs we couldn’t bring the updates to our customers at the end of May. We’re working hard to resolve this issue and will let customers know when it will be available.”

It looks like Vodafone got theirs a couple weeks ago, now T-Mobile is getting theirs, and it looks like Three will be coming in third place (no pun intended) to receive the Gingerbread update. Stay tuned and we will keep you updated.
