T-Mobile Acknowledge’s G2X’s Issues, Promises Update

Yesterday we reported that the G2X had been taken off T-Mobile’s website, and we had speculated that perhaps it was due to the poor quality of the device i.e. random reboots, freezes, bad battery life. Later we updated the report because T-Mobile had apparently responded to everyone who was asking about it and they claim that they were out of stock of the device due to high demand, something which they are now working out with LG.

To be fair it was a rather promising device when it was first announced, one that was highly recommended although the recent problems that plagued it was a bit of a put off for those who wanted to get their hands on it.

Now it seems that a T-Mobile rep has said that they recognize some of the issues that the device is facing and that they are working with LG to deliver software updates which they hope will offer “performance enhancements” which seems like a pretty neat way of saying that the device has not been performing up to par and they are now trying to fix it. However the poor battery life and random reboots and freezes seem like they could be hardware related, although there has been no mention of a recall, so I guess we will have to wait for T-Mobile to roll out the update first and see how that pans out. Owners of the G2X will have to be patient until then.
