Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 Gets Android 2.1 Update

If you had to re-read that title, don’t worry, so did I when I first heard it. This device is a little over a year old and only now it receives the Android Eclair 2.1 update. Even typing Eclair felt weird. Sony Ericsson puts out some pretty nice devices but one of the biggest issues would be their incredibly slow software updates, in this case it took them over a year to push out an already outdated Android operating system, but hey, I guess those who bought the X10 can rejoice over that little upgrade.

Taken from their blog, “We couldn’t be more excited to bring you the news we have for you today. After much hard-work, we are happy to announce that the Android 2.1 upgrade will be available for AT&T XperiaTM X10 customers in the US starting Tuesday, May 31st. We can’t thank you enough for your patience.”

Judging from the comments, some blame AT&T for the need to fill the update with their bloatware carrier apps, but some blame Sony Ericsson for just being slow in general, what do you think? Who’s to blame here?
