Samsung Launches Developer Forum

Perhaps after seeing how Sony Ericsson is being so open with their own source code and providing developers with toolkits and documentation to aid the developing process, Samsung decided to follow suit with their very own developer forum.

The forum also includes a number of discussion boards where Samsung will provide technical advice and support and this is to help ensure that its developers will have all the knowledge at their disposal to create Android products for Samsung devices. FAQ’s along with a knowledge database will also add to that information.

Apart from the forums, the website will also include the latest software development kits (SDK), video tutorials and updates for both hardware and software. Some of the development tools that Samsung will be offering  include SDK plug-ins for Augmented Reality and location based services which seem to be some of the more popular features for smartphones these days, although with both Apple and Google in the hot seat with regards to privacy and location services all that remains to be seen.

Now with Sony Ericsson and Samsung providing SDK’s and documentation to aid developers perhaps we might even see HTC or LG follow their footsteps.
