Next Verizon iPhone To Be World Phone?

Published

on

Verizon’s CFA Fran Shammo mentioned last month that the next Verizon iPhone will be a world phone, much like AT&T’s version of the iPhone which had no problems working in multiple countries, unlike Verizon’s current iPhone that apparently only works in some countries.

It seems that the next iPhone, whether it be the iPhone 4S or the iPhone 5, will be seeing a same launch date as AT&T’s iPhone. He also went to further cement the fact that the next iPhone will not feature LTE technology. He said “even if the next iPhone does not support LTE, Verizon will have enough high-speed alternatives to sell.”

On the upside Verizon users will be getting an iPhone that could work in many countries but on the downside no LTE. Granted there are a couple of devices out there that already support LTE but iPhone users who have been running on 3G, this really shouldn’t be seen as a loss since the previous generation iPhone did not support LTE as well.

If you were a Verizon customer, does the lack of LTE on the next iPhone generation bother you? Or the fact that it can now work in multiple countries be a selling point for you?
