Netflix for Android works on unsupported devices

Netflix for Android was officially released for only a handful of mobile phones, and a lot of devices were left out of the picture, including tablets. But thanks to the clever community of Android users, they’ve figured out a way to make Netflix run on unsupported devices. Granted not all phones or tablets will work with it properly (i.e. force closing, crashes, no video/sound etc) because Netflix wasn’t meant to work on those devices – but if you’re already a rooted user, there’s no harm in trying it out after a simple hack.

The hack basically just makes Netflix think your phone is one of the supported devices, which then allows it to run. How well the app runs on your phone is another story. But seeing how even the Nexus One is supported in the official list, it shouldn’t be too demanding of an app. Then again, the difference between processors could be a key factor. If you’re interested in making Netflix work on your unsupported device, head here. Let us know how it goes for you.
