NEC LifeTouch W To Arrive In Japan

NEC is set to launch their dual-screen tablet device named the NEC LifeTouch W in Japan next month. The device would feature two 7 inch resistive displays capable of 800 x 600 resolution and comes loaded with just 384MB of RAM.  The device is powered with a Cortex A8 CPU and it would ship with Android 2.2 edition with battery life to be around five hours. Perhaps not the most amazing tablet in terms of specs and operating system (Froyo 2.2 really?) so NEC should be pricing this rather cheaply if it hopes to compete with the rest of the tablets out there.

Would any of you consider this tablet if it was priced cheaply, or would you rather fork out more money to ensure that you got the best tablet that money could buy? Is the resistive touch screens putting you off or is it Android’s Froyo 2.2 that might deter you from getting this device? After all there are tablets out there that run on dual-core processors and sport Android’s Honeycomb 3.0 operating system which was designed for tablets.

If anything this could serve as an introductory Android tablet for users who are just getting into the Android game.
