Mobile phones might be bad for your marriage

It seems that in India according to the Punjab State Commission for Women in India, women talking for long periods on their mobile phone could potentially foster jealousy in their husbands. The State Commission issued an official advisory to newly-wed brides with regards to this matter.
According to the Commission Head Kaur Sangha, she says that “Most husbands said their wives are always on the phone and they doubted their character as they suspected them of talking to ex-boyfriends.”

In a way it’s kind of ironic as mobile phones and carrier networks have often been advertised in such a way that it’s supposed to promote togetherness and connect loved ones together, although I suppose ex-boyfriends could be considered as loved ones too.

However in reality it seems that the brides have mostly been calling back home to their parents and giving them almost by-the-hour updates of their new lives.
