LG To Fix Optimus 2X’s Random Reboot Problem

Published

on

Remember in this earlier post we talked about how in their rush to get the Optimus 2X out that LG neglected to do their due diligence which caused a lot of bugs and errors to appear on the phone, i.e. random reboots, unresponsive screens and high temperatures? If you are one of those affected and have signed the petition, it seems that LG has finally heard all your cries of distress and are delivering updates some time in Europe this week, and North America shouldn’t be too far behind.

According to LG, they have determined that these troubles occur when the device is charging or when the power button is pressed or when the phone is in standby, which is pretty much all the time unless you are mid-call or doing something else like surfing, playing a game, etc, but they can’t expect you to be doing that 24/7 can they?

Anyway the update should be delivered OTA but that all depends on your carrier and the region you are in. While a week does not seem too long f0r LG to respond to the petition, I am pretty sure those with affected devices must have felt like that one week was eternity. Hopefully this update will teach LG not to release products in a rush next time!
