LG Optimus 2X – Being First Isn’t Everything Unless You Do It Right

There have been times when I have debated the merits of being an early adopter or just playing the waiting game and wait for reviews and recommendations before making my purchase. This is one such time when I am glad I am not an early adopter. Apart from being able to show off your brand new shiny device to your friends and proclaiming that you own the worlds first dual-core smartphone, it doesn’t look good if your phone were to suddenly reboot or crash, which is what the LG Optimus 2X seems to be plagued with.

In their rush to be the world’s first dual-core smartphone it seems that LG decided to forego quality control and delivered an unpolished operating system that could not take advantage of the phones hardware and caused some instability. The community down at xda-developers have started a thread with now over 100 pages detailing all the faults of the LG Optimus 2X which include blank, unresponsive screens, random reboots and exceedingly hot temperatures when recharging.

LG has kept its silence with regards to this matter prompting an online petition to bring this matter into the public. Are you a LG Optimus 2X user and do you face any of the problems described? If so you may find the link to the petition here.
