Korea Has Worlds First “Superphone”

If the name Pantech rings no bells with you, you can hardly be blamed. The Korea-based company is not very well known in the West but back home they seem to be doing pretty all right by themselves. However with their latest offering it’s going to be a bit hard for the West not to sit up and take notice as the Korean company has managed to put out the worlds first “super phone” – the Vega Racer, clocking in a 1.5GHz on a dual-core processor and sporting a 4.3-inch TFT LCD display with 800×480 WVGA resolution, dual cameras at 8MP (rear facing camera) and 1.3MP (front facing camera).

Pretty impressive for a device that weighs 120g (4.23 oz) and is 9mm thick. It will be going on sale some time later this month on SK-Telecom. While it seems unlikely that it will be making its way to the US, the specs that it features should be giving the other manufacturers back home in Korea a run for their money.
