iPhone 5 Facebook Scams

It’s not surprising to find out that scams have invaded Facebook and the latest iPhone 5 scam is something most Facebook users should be aware of if they’re aren’t already. Taking advantage of the hype that the iPhone 5 is generating – despite no announcements or news about it – this scam involves you clicking a link which is supposed to look like a link that takes you to a website that is currently reporting on the iPhone 5 as seen in the picture to the right.

Upon clicking it will take you to another page where you are asked to verify that you are not a bot by entering a verification word that is provided. By entering this code it will then be posted on your profile which then notifies your friends that you have commented on a link which in turn makes them think it is legit causing them to click it.

After the verification you will be directed to another page where you will be asked to fill out a survey which was the whole point to begin with. This is also known as clickjacking but worse when it affects social networking sites such as Facebook where links are shared all the time.
