Google Nexus S 4G to get OTA maintenance update

Published

on

Very rarely does a handset get released to the masses only to be followed by a maintenance update so soon, but the Nexus S 4G from Google does just that. Sprint’s latest smartphone has already started to receive a minor OTA maintenance update that will bump up the software update to software version GRJ22. Sprint says that the several enhancements featured will include :-

  • Improved performance and device security
  • International roaming with Google Voice
  • Tags application when using between two Nexus S devices

For those who have yet to receive an update notification, you will be able to do so manually by going to the following :- Menu -> Settings ->About Phone -> System Updates->Update Firmware (or Android). We do wish that other handset manufacturers will take up the task of pushing out fixes and updates soonest possible, but doesn’t this give you additional impetus to purchase a Nexus S 4G?
