China Mobile And Apple Reach Agreement Regarding LTE

So a lot of signs have been pointing towards an iPhone 4S, not the iPhone 5 and along with the iPhone 4S comes the lack of support for LTE, mainly because according to Apple, the Qualcomm baseband chips that are being used by the iPhone’s aren’t performing at optimal speeds for an LTE connection.

To further cement the notion that there will definitely not be LTE support from Apple’s iPhone 4S, China Mobile who is one of the carriers that will be carrying the iPhone 4S (if the rumors are believed to be true) have been in talks with Apple and it seems that they both have come to an agreement that Apple will eventually support the carrier’s 4G TD-LTE data network.

No time frame was given as to when this “support” will be given but we can safely assume that by the term “eventually” we will not be seeing an LTE enabled iPhone this year. If I had to venture a guess I would say the very earliest we would be seeing an LTE enabled iPhone it would probably be in 2012 with the true iPhone 5, or perhaps the iPhone 4G?
