ASUS’S Padfone Not The First Of Its Kind

When ASUS’s Padfone was first announced it seemed like it was the first of its kind, a rather unique concept that combined smartphone with tablet, allowing a somewhat seamless integration of both devices, allowing you to continue your work from your smartphone on to your tablet. Well it seems at the time of ASUS’s Padfone’s unveiling, CMIT’s TransPhone was apparently enjoying its third day of life.

Apparently the TransPhone by CMIT had made a rather quiet appearance on the web which was said to be as early as Saturday and I guess with all the hype about ASUS’s mysterious device it was promptly ignored. In terms of marketing it looks like ASUS might have done a better job. Appearance wise they differ by how the phone is docked. With ASUS’s Padfone the docking station for the phone is revealed by flipping open a back cover, and judging by the TransPhone, it looks as though there will be no back cover but rather the phone will be docked by sliding it into the port.

In terms of hardware, CMIT’s TransPhone will be running on a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and features SVGA display along with USB and HDMI ports. No mention of its storage capacity or what operating system it will be running on. Pricing and availability is still unknown at this point but stay tuned and we will keep you updated.

Could be that CMIT’s TransPhone will be ASUS’s Padfone’s competitor, or at the very least provide an alternative solution to consumers.
