Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 Leaked For Motorola’s Defy

While Motorola’s Defy has not garnered the same amount of attention as the other Android smartphones out there, possibly due to its rugged nature which is not really a quality most people look into when deciding to purchase a smartphone. In case you forgot, the Motorola Defy features a 3.7-inch touchscreen with 854 x 480 resolution, 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 5 megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash, 2GB of internal storage and a microSDHC slot for another 32GB, which are pretty decent specs for a phone released in the third quarter of 2010.

If you think about it, the Defy has been running on Android’s Froyo 2.2 since then which makes this update to Android’s Gingerbread 2.3.3 rather interesting for developers who wish to further develop on the Defy. Of course this build is not an official build released by Motorola or a carrier so with all unofficial updates one has to be careful when updating.

However if you know what you’re doing or if you just can’t wait for the Gingerbread 2.3.3 update to become official you can always just head on down to the XDA-Developers thread and download it there.
