A Tablet Designed For Restaurants

If you’re getting tired of waiters who get your order wrong and you have to send food back because when you told your server that you wanted your steak medium-rare, instead he brings it to you served well-done, then perhaps eTab could end your frustration. Basically what the eTab does is that it allows you as a customer to place your order by yourself without having to speak to a server and further customize your meal by specifying your preferences, i.e. steak done medium rare, burger with no pickles or less dressing on the salad.

The eTab features a dedicated menu button, an order button which in turn displays the menu items that have been selected, but not yet submitted to the kitchen’s bar, a server button which sends a page to the server to let them know you require service, and a bill button which shows your bills total amount. Customers can even pay with their credit card by swiping directly on the eTab’s credit card terminal, no more waiting around and waving your arms in the air in a public place like a mad person trying to grab a server’s attention. Or perhaps future versions will allow NFC types of payments.

On top of that each server will carry a handheld device that will let them know how much time has passed since a customer has made an order or has paged them for help. While extremely convenient not just for servers and customers alike I can only imagine the mischief that could be caused by such a device.
