The day has finally arrived. After countless months of waiting, Samsung Galaxy S users on Verizon can finally rejoice. The update to Android 2.2 (Froyo) has started rolling out to Big Red users today. The Samsung Fascinate that has been stuck on Éclair (Android 2.1) since it was released (unless of course the device was rooted and loaded with a custom ROM) will officially be upgraded to Froyo today.

The Froyo update brings a lot of new features to the table including the ability to store apps on the SD card, Adobe Flash support, and most importantly – general Android OS speed, memory and performance optimizations.

To update your phone – just wait for it to be pushed out to your device, or you can go to Menu > Settings > About Phone > System Updates > and check for updates. If it’s available to you, you can start downloading it right away. Have you received Froyo on your Samsung Fascinate yet? Let us know how the update goes for you.
