Verizon pushing out HTC ThunderBolt update soon

Published

on

Great news for folks who own the HTC ThunderBolt. A software update is on the way, bringing quite a number of improvements to the 4G LTE phone. Though the update was leaked last week through a ROM, the official update hasn’t reared its head yet – Verizon has only made the announcement on their website. The update is supposed to improve the phone’s 3G connection, organize text messages better and enhances support and performance for some apps on the phone. The update is ready, but it hasn’t started rolling out yet. No word from Verizon when it’s going to happen either but keep an eye out on your phone’s notification bar for that update alert.

Features of the update:

  • Enhanced data connectivity when accessing the Verizon 3G network
  • SMS and MMS messages are stored properly in the Messaging Application
  • Timing for device activation has been improved
  • “Backup Assistant” is correctly displayed in the Application menu
  • Stability improvements for data centric applications such as Facebook, KAYAK, Yahoo! Mail, My Verizon and more
  • Accurate location is displayed when accessing the Weather Widget
  • Quickly load GPS updates for Google Maps and VZ Navigator
