iPhone 5 to be radically different?

What a way  to end the week – the folks over at This Is My Next have posted up what is touted to be a mockup design of the next generation iPhone. Going against previous reports about the phone looking like the iPhone 4, the iPhone 5 is supposed to feature a radically different design, and will be more than just a spec bump from the current iPhone.

The iPhone 5 is said to have a teardrop shape similar to the MacBook Air’s profile, and will look more like the iPod touch than the iPhone 4. The bezel has been removed, giving the phone and edge to edge 3.7″ display (still Retina Display), and the home button area has been expanded to incorporate some sort of gesture area.

While the mockup is based on information they’ve been fed by their sources, the phones their sources spotted could have been pre-production prototypes that will never see the light of day. But like all iPhone rumors – they shall stay rumors until officially confirmed by Apple themselves. What do you think of this radical new design? Are you a fan?
