GetJar mobile integrated with Facebook

When it comes to trying out new apps, who are you more willing to listen to – the app of the day recommendation from the app store you download from, or from your own friends? Chances are your friend’s opinion matters more than some random recommendation from a faceless store. Well, GetJar did their research and discovered the same thing to. Because friend recommendations are valued higher, they decided to upgrade their GetJar app store.

Starting with the mobile version of the GetJar site, they’ve decided to integrate it with the world’s largest social network, Facebook. Using Facebook Connect, users can connect their Facebook profile to their GetJar account. Every time they download an app, they can easily recommend it by liking it or they can choose to dislike it. When these downloads are posted onto their walls, it gives the apps more exposure, leading more people to try it out, and probably rate it themselves as well. Download history is also stored, so users will know what they need to redownload in the event of a stolen/lost/formatted phone.
