Sprint Google Voice Deal is important for the Carrier

Sprint obviously did not like the coming together of AT&T and T-Mobile but it is busy making alliances itself at the CTIA. Sprint has joined hands with Google for its Google Voice service. The deal will facilitate the conversion of a sprint number into a Google Voice number while also giving users access to visual voicemail and call forwarding to multiple devices. Sprint’s Kevin McGinnis, director of open enablement has acknowledged that this development is very important for Sprint’s future. He believes that Sprint can offer the existing Google Voice users the chance to condense the current two-number problem of Google Voice into one, with the chance of adding more services to the feature at the same time. The reality though seems that Sprint is wanting to use Google Voice’s appeal to retain existing subscribers, while also attracting the existing base of Google Voice users to Sprint’s service.
