Samsung’s Galaxy S is going to be replaced by a new handset, according to the latest reports online. And apparently it won’t be the Galaxy S 2 that’s doing the replacing – a new Galaxy S phone called the Galaxy S Plus will be doing the job instead. The Samsung Galaxy S Plus, model number i9001, will be running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) on an overclocked Hummingbird processor at 1.4GHz, feature a 4″ Super AMOLED Display, 8GB of internal memory, and a 1650mAh battery. The phone will go on sale in Russia next month for the equivalent of $840 (unlocked). While we’re still waiting for any official word from Samsung, Eldar Murtazin is rarely off the mark, and there’s a chance this device will surface in the future. Any takers? Or is the Galaxy S 2 what you’re looking for instead?
