Next version of MobileMe to have music cloud storage?

According to some reports online, the next version of Apple’s cloud service for iOS devices, MobileMe, will have a new music component called a “locker.” The reports don’t say what this “locker” is about, but speculations point towards it being a cloud music storage, where users can backup their iTunes songs online, in the event that they lose or damage the files on their computers/music devices, they will have the chance to download a backup of their songs again instead of having repurchase them.  Apple is rumored to be introducing the new MobileMe in a media event next month, so we won’t have to wait too long to find out what’s up their sleeves.
