AT&T has taken an appreciable step of offering customers with free calls and SMS to Japan until the end of this month. The offer is effective immediately thus ensuring that the AT&T customers can get in touch with their family members in Japan without much efforts. A number of carriers took a similar initiative after the Haiti catastrophe. AT&T is the first one to come up with such a decision with regards to Japan natural disaster. Japan was shattered with a massive earthquake and Tsunami which has affected countless Japanese nationals. The wireline AT&T customers will also avail 60 minutes of free calling to Japan on a daily basis-which is again effective immediately through March 31. Customers will either be offered credits on the bill or else, the charges will not be reflected for the calls made to Japan. Also, those willing to donate money to help the affected people can text “redcross” to 90999 to give a $10 donation and they will not be charged anything for the text.
