Apple iPad 2 Sold Out and a Majority of Them are New Buyers

The second generation iOS tablet has arrived on the scene and in-tune with the expectations, the sales figures have been astronomical. Two days into the market and the first batch of iPad 2 units has been completely sold out. This thoroughly confirms that Apple is indeed the leader in the tablet market where the likes of Samsung, Motorola and Blackberry are trying to compete with the Cupertino giant. Another noteworthy fact is that 70% of the people who bought iPad 2 are new converts, implying that they were not in possession of the first generation iOS tablet. Most of these tablets were sold within 24 hours of the release. At the moment, Apple seemingly rules the tablet segment just like it ruled the smartphone segment for years. It was the advent of Android which changed the scenario in the smartphone segment and the onus will again be on Google to challenge Apple in a segment which Apple has made its ‘very own’ for the moment.
