Sprint Samsung Epic 4G update pulled

All is not going well for Samsung Galaxy S owners in the US. With Android 2.2 (Froyo) updates being promised, delayed, rolled out, and then retracted it seems like nobody is ever going to get a fully working official Froyo update. The latest to fall victim to this curse is the Epic 4G (the Galaxy S from Sprint). After releasing the update 3 days ago, Sprint has decided to pull the update off their servers due to problems the update has been causing. Apparently there have been reports of data connectivity issues, and problems reading files off the SD cards. No mention of when a fixed update will be released, but hopefully it won’t take too long. In the meantime, the only advice they have for users that screwed up their phones with the update is: a hard reset. Ouch. Epic 4G owners – time to wait…again.
