LG Optimus 3D takes world’s most powerful smartphone title?

AnandTech has had some time on their hands and decided to run a slew of benchmark tests on their own to determine just which smartphone is top dog where power is concerned – and the LG Optimus 3D emerged first in all but one of the tests, although that garnered a respectable second place. Tests involved included the SunSpider Javascript Benchmark 0.9, the GLBenchmark 2.0 Egypt, PRO, and the Rightware BrowserMark benchmark. Other dual core smartphones in the running include the LG Optimus 2x, Samsung Galaxy S 2 and Motorola Atrix 4G, while the Nexus S also did pretty well for itself even with a single core processor. As expected, the iPhone 4 and iPad did not knock any ball out of the park due to their single core processor. How will this affect your next smartphone purchase? We suspect not much, since the gains in performance are not that wide in disparity, so other factors such as operating system, apps available as well as brand loyalty do play a role.
