iGuardianTeen tries to keep your driving child safe

Concerned about whether your kids are staying focused on the road when they’re driving? You’re not the only one, and the folks behind iGuardianTeen understand your situation. They have just released an app to solve this problem. Called iGuardianTeen, it aims to keep teen drivers distraction-free and focused on the road. The app works as a preventive tool as well as a monitor – it prevents texting and phone calls while driving, but at the same time it retains a log of those calls and texts so users can get back to them after they’re done driving. In addition to preventing in-car communication, the app logs the vehicle’s top speeds; GPS coordinates and start/stop times, and emails it to parents, keeping them informed about their children’s whereabouts. It also has the ability to automatically record video in the event of an emergency, which could be very useful in helping to identify a location or the seriousness of the accident. The app is available for a one-time fee of $19.99 and should work on all Android phones (1.5 and above). Head over to the Android Market to get your hands on it.
