Verizon iPhone 4 took awhile to arrive because of technical difficulties

Verizon head of communications, Lowell Macadam explained in an interview that the iPhone took so long to arrive on Verizon’s network due of technical difficulties, and it wasn’t because of commercial disagreements like speculated previously. In fact, “the commercial deal took us a day”, said Macadam. They spent 6 to 9 months on the technical side of things – they even sent Verizon executive technology director David McCarley to Apple’s campus for a year to help implement CDMA into the iPhone. Verizon wanted to make sure that the iPhone could work perfectly on their network, and they wanted to make sure that their network could withstand the surge of customers that will be picking up the device from them so they spent time testing that as well. The iPhone has been exclusive to AT&T since it was introduced here and since then, consumers have been waiting for another carrier to sell the device. With Verizon finally picking up the iPhone, it’s no surprise if it becomes their best selling phone this year. Who’s getting a Verizon iPhone?
