Verizon iPhone 4 hotspot pricing revealed

Published

on

One of the selling points of Verizon’s iPhone 4 is the ability to turn the phone into a WiFi hotspot to share its internet connection with up to 5 other devices. During the launch, it wasn’t mentioned how much this would cost and how the plan would work out. Today, the details have been released – Verizon’s iPhone 4 hotspot service will cost $20 a month to use, and will limit users to 2GB worth of data. The data used in this way will be separate from the phone’s regular data, so you don’t have to worry about your friends eating into your personal data bandwidth when your hotspot bandwidth is used up. The bad news is that if the cap is exceeded, it’s going to cost you another $20 per additional GB over the limit – which is quite a shame if you’ll be paying for the $30/month unlimited data plan. What are your thoughts on the fees Verizon is charging for the iPhone 4 hotspot usage?
