Samsung Gem SCH-i100 goes official

Samsung USA has unveiled its latest Android-powered phone, the Samsung Gem SCH-i100. We’ve previously seen a picture of this phone with Verizon’s branding, so there’s a big chance that it will be available on Big Red. The bad news is that despite being unveiled in 2011, this phone is running the older version of Android, which is 2.1 Éclair. Other specifications of this phone include a 3.2-inch WQVGA resolution touchscreen display, Swype keyboard input, social networking integration via Samsung Hub, microSD card support, 3.2-megapixel camera and an 800MHz processor. Pricing wasn’t mentioned, but hopefully that will be revealed soon.
