Samsung Galaxy S Hoppin to be released later this week

It sure looks like Samsung is squeezing out every drop of cash they can make from their Galaxy S phones. They have just announced the launch of yet another Samsung Galaxy S phone – the Galaxy S Hoppin edition. Launching in Korea this week, the Galaxy S Hoppin is just a regular Galaxy S (updated to Android 2.2) and ships with a video dock to turn the phone into a set-top box that allows you to access the Hoppin entertainment service that lets you access pay per view content. Not a bad idea, but I feel that Samsung has already exhausted their Galaxy S line and are pushing their luck on this one. Why not just release the dock as a separate accessory that everyone can purchase for their Galaxy S phone? I think it might actually sell better that way. Chances are we won’t be seeing it on our shores, but do you think the Hoppin would do well here?
