Samsung Continuum gets OTA software update, sadly not Gingerbread

Verizon’s Samsung Continuum is the first phone to feature a touchscreen and a second ‘ticker’ display at the lower half of the phone. Now the phone is ready to receive a software update that will be pushed out over-the-air (OTA). If you haven’t received the prompt on your phone just yet, don’t fret as the rollout may be staggered or you can manually check for an update by going through the phone’s settings. While the update will not bump your Android version to 2.3 Gingerbread, it does solve some issues, improving Visual Voicemail functionality, not to mention improve voice dialing response time when connected to a Bluetooth headset or car kit.
