PlayBook to arrive on multiple carriers

According to the latest rumors, RIM’s upcoming QNX tablet will be available in a few different versions when it gets launched later this year. Rumors are suggesting that a GSM version compatible with AT&T and Rogers 3G will arrive after the WiFi version which arrives first. The 3G version will be followed by a Verizon LTE version and lastly a Sprint 4G version. And it looks like T-Mobile is left out of the equation. RIM certainly has plans to dominate the market with this device, and getting a carrier specific version sounds like a great idea – but how many people are planning to get a 3G/4G version of the tablet? WiFi with a phone to tether to sounds like a better idea, since you don’t have to pay for an extra data plan.
