This is a rather wild rumor that is going around at the moment. It’s already common knowledge that Symbian isn’t faring too well against competition from Android, iOS, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7, now whispers are going around that Nokia might be planning to unveil a phone at Mobile World Congress that will be powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Atom chip and will be running MeeGo Linux. Intel has previously demonstrated MeeGo running on the Moorestown platform (which is based on an Atom CPU) and said that the first Atom-based phones will be released in mid 2011, though speculation is that MWC 2011 might be the perfect place to unveil such devices. Do you think that such a phone will look anything like Nokia’s N9, pictured above? While most devices out there are going the ARM route, it’ll definitely be interesting to see how ARM and Atom devices stack up against each other.
