MPlayer ported over to Android

Published

on

Since the VLC app for Android won’t be appearing anytime soon, people have been searching for alternative apps to play videos on their Android phones. One of the more popular media players for Linux has been ported over to the Android operating system. The app features subtitles support, proper audio and video sync, stream URL support and it uses libfaad2 and libmad for aac and mp3 decoding. The app is still a work in progress, but it seems to be stable enough on the devices that it’s been tested on. So if you’re looking for an all-in-one mp3/video player (with a clean minimalistic interface) give MPlayer a shot, who knows, it might be what you need. Head over to the XDA-developers forum to download the APK.
