LG Optimus Black now official

At CES 2011, LG took down the curtains on their latest Android smartphone headed to our shores. No it’s not the dual-core Optimus 2X, but the LG Optimus Black. The phone is LG’s latest flagship Android phone, so if it repeats what the Optimus One did for the Korean manufacturer, expect it to come flying off the shelves as well. The Optimus Black packs an impressive 4″ NOVA display that promises to be bright and energy efficient at the same time. With most smartphones now running out of battery after a full day, LG looks like they’re trying to change that. Besides its energy saving display, the Optimus Black manages to hide a 1,500mAh battery in its 9.2mm slim profile. With a 2 megapixel front facing camera, Android 2.2 (with Optimus UI 2.0) under its hood, expect the device to lead the way for LG’s army of Android phones. Hopefully the device will get an Android 2.3 upgrade when it hits the streets which should be in the first half of 2011.
