Google hiring more staff with NFC experience and NFC apps appear in Android Market

With Google supporting the technology, it seems like NFC contactless systems will become increasingly popular this year. Google’s support for NFC was pretty much confirmed when the Nexus S was unveiled with NFC support from the get go. Now the company is looking to hire a Technical Account Manager with knowledge in NFC technology, hinting that the company plans to explore the situation and technology further.

Aside from that, the first NFC-enabled apps have begun to appear in the Android Market, such as Taglet. This handy little app allows users to gather information such as website addresses, from an NFC tag. A video demonstration of Taglet is also available after the jump.
