If you’ve never seen a fire rescue take place before or you’re a citizen who is just looking for adventure and a chance to be the hero because of some higher calling, you might just get your chance. The Fire Department in San Ramon Valley, California has just released the Fire Department app for the iPhone – an app catering to the needs of the inner firefighter in all of us (okay, maybe just some of us). The Fire Department app alerts you of any emergency activities in the area and lets you know what’s going on and who is needed. If you put in your profile that you are proficient in CPR, whenever somebody is in need of your skills, the app will send out a push notification to your device, requesting for your assistance. The app even loads up a map to show you the location you need to go to if you want to do your part. Talk about being a hero! Even if you don’t have any intentions of being a hero and you’re just interested in knowing what’s going on in your area, the app can satisfy your curiosity. Fire Department is available now for free on the iTunes App Store. Hit the break to watch a promo video. How many of you will download this app and put it to good use?
