If you thought touchscreen phones were already a big deal, the FiiL concept phone by Japanese designer Mac Fanumizu has gone one step further, offering a Tangible User Interface (TUI). The design attempts to give physical form to digital information. The FiiL is a touch sensitive device and features a flexible screen surface that supports z-axis movements to create shapes of buttons and switches for users to interact with. Another benefit of this design is that it’ll be useful for the visually impaired, since the shapes can be touched and easily navigated. Aside from the interface, the device also supports solar charging, so it’s also eco-friendly.
