BlackBerry PlayBook might be able to run Android apps

Here’s some interesting news about RIM’s upcoming QNX tablet – the BlackBerry PlayBook. Apparently RIM might make it possible for the PlayBook to run Android apps. RIM has previously mentioned that they would like to get a Java virtual machine running on their PlayBook, and they are considering using the Dalvik virtual machine – the very same virtual machine that Android uses to run its apps. If RIM does adopt it for their tablet, it will allow the PlayBook to run Android apps as well. An unlikely alliance between RIM and Google, who knows? But this could solve the problem of the PlayBook having no apps at launch.
