Android Honeycomb ported to the NOOKcolor

Fans of the NOOKcolor from Barnes & Noble have a reason to get excited – the folks over at XDA-developers have managed to port Honeycomb (Android 3.0) over to the NOOKcolor. It looks like we’ll have the Honeycomb experience on our tablets before the Motorola Xoom hits the market. Since this build of Honeycomb isn’t from Google’s official source code (they haven’t released it yet) but from the emulator image in the SDK instead, it isn’t expected to be fully functional and will have loads of bugs. When Google releases the official source code for the operating system, you can expect a proper and fully functional port. Though the current Honeycomb build doesn’t work properly, the fact that we can have Honeycomb on a NOOKcolor is really something. The Android tablet from Banes & Noble is really proving itself to be one of the best budget tablets available on the market right now. How many of you have hacked your NOOKcolor to do more than just read eBooks?
