World of Warcraft on a HD Desire

Who would’ve thought this day would come- World of Warcraft on an Android phone. Sure, it’s not the actual game running on the phone itself, but the mere fact that the game is playable on the phone speaks volumes. Thanks to GameString, WoW addicts can continue raiding while at the breakfast table or in class during a boring lecture! GameString is basically a cloud service where they host games on their servers and let users play those games through a browser. Since all the processing will be done server side, all users really need is a browser with an internet connection to receive data and send out commands- you don’t need a high-end device. GameString does more than just host the game though, as you can see in the video, the UI they created for WoW has enlarged icons that can be shown and hidden when needed, to make full use of screen real estate. Some parts are a bit too small to interact with. The app is still in Alpha after all, so it’ll be some time before the public even gets it. Check out a video demo of GameString’s technology in action after the break.
