Tired of seeing yet another Android tablet? Well, we have some good news headed your way. The WeTab OS, an operating system from a German tablet of the same name has been released online. In case you don’t know what WeTab is, it is a Linux tablet operating system based on customized version of MeeGo Linux. It sports a highly customizable user interface that includes a sidebar which you can use to navigate through apps, web pages, and widgets on the home screen. The widgets can be anything from an app launcher to a dynamic app with interactive elements such as RSS feeds, Tweets, YouTube videos and other content. While we can’t get our hands on the tablet here in the States, we can download the operating system and its development tools which the developers have so kindly made available to the public. Expect to see this operating system being ported to other tablets in the near future. We can’t wait. Head over to the official website if you’re interested in taking a crack at the operating system.
