Virtual Keyboard spotted in webOS 2.0

Published

on

Remember back when people discovered references to a virtual keyboard in early versions of webOS 2.0? Well, now that we have access to the phones running webOS 2.0 (the Palm Pre 2) some folks have modified the config files and managed to enable it in the operating system. After a restart, you just have to hit Opt+Sym+K or do a slow half-swipe up to bring up the virtual keyboard on the screen (it replaces the Quick Wave shortcuts). As of now, the keyboard implementation is a bit buggy, it crashes, and it feels a bit too cramped for the Pre 2’s screen- but at least we know it’s there, so it could be a sign of things to come. Perhaps there will be a full touchscreen Palm phone with a bigger screen in the future. Watch the keyboard in action after the break.
