UnityRemote gives your iPhone infra red capabilities

If you’ve been using an iPhone for awhile now, I’m sure you would’ve made use of its Bluetooth/WiFi capabilities to act as a multipurpose remote control. But what about those old devices that you still have around the house and are in perfect working condition but don’t support Bluetooth or WiFi? Those DVD players and TVs that come with Infra Red remote controls for you to use, what do you do about them? UnityRemote helps you communicate with them using your iOS device. All you do is set up the UnityRemote box in the center of your living room (where your IR devices are) and configure the app that comes along with the box. Using Bluetooth, your iPhone communicates with the box, which then sends out instructions in IR to your devices. You’ll never have to say goodbye to your beloved DVD player again! The UnityRemote app also has some additional functions to make your home theater experience better. You can program macro commands (called Actions) that will execute a few commands in a row with the press of a button. I.e. one press to turn on the TV and DVD player, and load whatever is inside the disk tray. Time saving? You bet. The UnityRemote is available on sale for $99 on gear4’s online store.
