UK Galaxy S users in for a Christmas treat – Froyo!

It’s finally here. The long awaited-Froyo (Android 2.2) update for Samsung Galaxy S (i9000) phones has finally been released. According to a tweet from Samsung UK, the Android update that will bring the Galaxy S phone up to speed with the rest of the Android smartphones out there has just been released. All you have to do is install Kies (if you haven’t already), connect your Galaxy S to your PC with its cable and run Kies which will guide you through the installation process. Simple? Very. Now I’d hate to be the one to pop the bubble, but judging from the quality of recent Froyo updates from Samsung (phone bricking, anyone?) I’d recommend waiting a couple of days to make sure nobody else is suffering from any problems before using the update. As usual, back up your phone just in case- you never know what could go wrong. In the event everything goes fine and dandy, I guess the update came just in time for you to open those annoying Flash Christmas cards on your Android phone. Let us know how the update works out for you! Head here for more details.
